The Belle Ayr Mine was the first modern coal mine in Wyoming's Powder River Basin when it began production in 1972.

Belle Ayr ships 18 million tons of low-sulfur coal to customers via both the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern rail lines per year. The mine uses three large electric shovels and a fleet of ultra-class haul trucks to remove overburden from its 80-foot thick coal seam. All of Belle Ayr's coal is used to generate electricity.

The Eagle Butte mine began producing coal in 1977.
Wyoming Mining Association recognized Eagle Butte as the "Safest Large Mine in Wyoming" for 2022 and 2023.

Eagle Butte produces coal from two active areas and is capable of shipping multiple grades of sub-bituminous coal. Production methods include cast/dozer and truck/shovel. The mine is served exclusively by the Burlington Northern Railroad and shipped over 16 million tons last year.

Sundial Mining began production in Naoma, West Virginia in 2023
Sundial received the Mountaineer Guardian Award for safety at this year’s WVCA symposium for exemplary mine safety performance during 2023.

Sundial Mining is known for its high-quality Metallurgical ("Met") and Thermal coal seams. With over 22 million tons of reserve, Sundial Mining represents a substantial long-term project. The mine's production of both Met and Thermal coal plays a vital role in steel manufacturing and power generation, highlighting its industrial significance.

Eagle Horizon
Eagle Horizon currently produces high vol B metallurgical, PCI, and high-quality thermal coals.

These coals are mined by surface and highwall mining methods, and the mine has the potential for near term metallurgical and high-quality thermal underground operations as well. Eagle Horizon has an additional 30 million tons of recoverable, highly marketable coal. Eagle Horizon also has the Bull Creek Preparation Plant and rail load out facility allowing for coal transportation by rail on the CSX line or can ship via barge on the Kanawha River to the valued customers of Eagle Summit Resources.
